Glavni nedostatak 5.1 Vector linux-a bio je nedostatak Gnome okruzenja, tj. Gnome se dobija uz deluxe verziju koja se naravno placa. Posle par dana upoznavanja sa Vector-om i pretrazivanja neta, saznao sam da je moguce spojiti Vector 5.1 standard i Freerock Gnome za Slackvare. Evo kako (Vector online forum):

Free Rock Gnome has made its repository of packages slapt-get compliant. Freerock GNOME is a complete GNOME Desktop distribution designed and packaged specifically for Slackware Linux. Freerock GNOME installs cleanly and non-intrusively by utilizing the standard Slackware software package format (".tgz").
Using this repository you can get a full Gnome desktop and certain packages (e.g. evolution).
In order to use in slapt-get / gslapt you will need to add the following link to the sources:
http://mirror.datapipe.net/norlug/frg/frg-0.2.3/ for gnome 2.10.2 built using slackware 10,1 (the base for vector soho 5.0 and standard 5.1)
or
http://mirror.datapipe.net/norlug/frg/frg-current/ for gnome 2.12 built against slackware 10.2 (using these package probably work but no guarantees).
Meni je jedini problem bio to sto je za instalaciju Freerock Gnome potrebna Mozilla a ona ne postoji medju fttp: //fttp.nluug.nl/pub/metalab/distributions/vectorlinux-5.0/packages/ koji se nalazi u slaptget source-vima tako da sam dodao mirror
http://ftp://mirror.etf.bg.ac.yu/slackware/slackware-10.1/ i odatle instalirao mozillu.
